About

Hi my name is Charlene Baptiste aka Baptiste. I have a dream/vision to create a place of clean, enjoyable and cool place to gather. This place will be called “BaptisteCave” “The Cave” for short. Inside this building will be many entities such as a sweet shop, balloon/flower shop, slurp and paint sessions along with a great restaurant and dry bar. There will be TVs all around so no sports, reality shows or news will be missed. There will also be a room for TV game shows such as family feud, match game and many more. The Cave will have an atmosphere of smile, laughter and great fun.

Just a little about myself, thanks for asking. I am 54 years old. I was raised on the south side of Chicago by a single parent, the late Brenda J. Baptiste. Every year for the summer I was eager to go to Louisiana to be with my Uncle and Auntie in Donaldsonville, La., that’s where my passion for cooking came in, along with helping my mother when at home in Chicago. As a kid I watched my late Uncle Lim (Sidney Cost) cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. You talking about mmm mmm good. He would cook chicken, succotash, gumbo, crawfish boil and much much more. These memories of help cooking will always be with me along with their recipes.

I enjoy good company, great people to be around and no drama in the air. That place will be called the “The Cave”!

Hope to see your face in the place when the time comes!
